Dondria
Extraordinarily talented singer, songwriter producer and performer Daron Jones has had a passion for music as far back as he can remember and has been using this passion to inspire others ever since. Daron first discovered his love for music on his Grandmothers porch where he taught himself to play the piano.
This passion led him to singing in his local Church and by 1st grade Daron was playing songs by ear and sharing them with his fellow classmates.
Daron’s mother, Pamela Jones, recognized his natural ability to play and sing and enrolled him into Sue
Hamptons Love Divine School of Music at the age of 10 so that he could learn to read the music that he was playing. He learned many lessons, however Daron was determined to do things his own way, and did not learn to read music.
By age 15 Daron was playing the piano for the youth choir at Isreal Baptist Church in East Atlanta, Ga. Daron was always determined and this remains true, Daron says “I always knew that I had the talent to make it in the music business. I knew that if I worked hard and persevered I would make it. There was never a doubt in my mind so I invested most of my time into music”. His passion and talent continued to grow and in 1994 Daron became one of the founding members of the R&B Super- Group 112.
By 1995 the group was signed to P.Diddy’s label “Bad Boy” and went on to win a Grammy and sold over 4 million records worldwide. Daron’s success did not stop with 112. As a writer and producer in his own right, Daron received many accolades writing and producing hits for the likes of Usher, The Notorious Biggie Smalls, R.Kelly, Keyshia Cole, Pink, Jamie Foxx, The Isley Brothers, New Edition and of course his own band, 112.
Daron began releasing solo projects in 2010.
His debut solo album entitled “Uncensored” was released in December 2010 followed by the holiday album “Christmas In Atlanta”. Daron discusses openly life as a solo artist and making this transition, “Honestly, going solo has not been an easy process, when you are used to doing the same thing for so many years, it’s hard to make the transition, it’s hard to let it go. Being a solo artist and having a sense of independence means I don’t have to censor what I say. This helped me grow and rediscover myself as an artist”.
Daron Jones has evolved as an artist and as a business man, CEO of his own label DPS Productions. DPS meaning – Definition Of Platinum Sounds. Currently Daron is working on his 3rd independent solo album entitled “Reinvention” due for release this summer. Daron says, “This album is an updated extension of the 90’s sound that my true fans know and love. Love life Relationships and Wisdom”. Daron is also developing new artists signed to the DPS label. Presently Soni Jones (R&B) and Heather Mayfield (Country).
“I’ve been able to share my music with the world for years and help some of the most well known and successful artists in the business spread their message through music.
My hope is that the world will appreciate the artists that I am developing here at DPS Productions and help me spread their message and support their music as well”.
“I wanna send a special shout out to all of the fans who are keeping tabs on me as an indie artist. Much love to y’all and God bless!!!”.
