The Perfect Blend
“I can’t accomplish any because…” This sentence confuses me, because if you looked at the last 100 years, women have proven they can accomplish amazing things. But despite meeting so many women who know they can achieve their dreams with mindset so strong and unshakeable, just as equally I meet those that think they can’t. It usually comes with excuses like “I have a disability”, “I have mental/physical health problems”, “I don’t have the skills”, “I’m not good enough” etc. Here’s the thing, I don’t believe those excuses for 1 second because I know you don’t believe them either.
Let me tell you why I already know you can do anything and that you’re just preventing your potential.
I have dyslexia so severe that growing up I would stutter, flip my sentences like “Yoda” from Star Wars, I struggled to read, write and understand what people were saying to me. In fact, I still struggle to read. For 14 years I had depression and anxiety from being badly bullied, I even had anorexia and health conditions that lead me to passing out a fair bit. Even in my 9-5 days I had people literally trying to prevent me from succeeding, yeah, no joke.
So, needless to say, things weren’t exactly easy for me, but I never viewed them as challenges or something that would prevent me from having a great life.
The truth is your life can change drastically and quickly if you allow it. Apart from working on my speech, writing and reading skills throughout the years, I actually transformed my life and started working as my own boss in 1 year.
How? Because I knew I could even if I didn’t know how. So, I worked my butt off for a year re-training my skills, I would work during every lunch break and train journey to build my business around a full-time job, I worked on my mental health which in turn transformed my physical health; I took hardcore action towards my dreams every day until I left my job and doubled my income in the first 3 months of business.
So, if someone like me can do it, why can’t you? I know it’s scary but trust me when I say- just do it anyway, every time you do something terrifying and uncomfortable you grow rapidly as a person, and remember; there are no failures, just lessons learned.
