The 4 P Formula to Ace an Interview

5 Steps to Get Active & Creative: A New Way to Approach Family Fitness
The year 2020 was filled with mantras and motivational sayings for “the Girl Boss.” During the pandemic, women rose to the occasion by creating innovative side hustles, overnight internet businesses, and crushing social media with their impeccable influence.
I, too, became a “Girl Boss” during the pandemic. I had remote jobs, side hustles, consulted, and still managed home. I became utterly exhausted and excessively drained. Finally, I said to myself, “Enough.” Though I had goals and dreams, why was I killing myself? Really?
What meter do you have in your life that tells you that you have gone overboard? What things have you implemented to bring balance and harmony to your mind, body, and spirit? Here are a few things I implemented for a better life and a better me.
- An Intense Look at the Mirror – I looked in the mirror after a long day of working 12 or more hours. I pushed myself to the limit for days, weeks, and months without really caring about my appearance. What did I do? I slept for a whole day and chose not to feel bad about it. Doing this from time to time was called my “reset.
- My Shower Routine & Oasis – Can you say “spa-like living?” I am so in love with my shower routine! I gathered up my research and went shopping. I incorporated fabulous items such as herbal soaps, mint-infused hair oil, natural water-based cleansers, V spot cleansers, and floral steam baths.
- Relaxation- I stumbled across Ashwagandha, which has been used for centuries to bring calmness. That, along with stress-relief teas, were added to my days. Personal massagers, relaxing chamomile baths, etc… the options were endless!
- De-clutter, Reorganize and Beautify- After so many nights are working until I would pass out, I looked at my workspace, my closets, and my room and had to get a grip!
Professional organizers would suggest getting your house and work environment in order. When things are in place, you can see what is next on your agenda. Clarity comes from clearing your physical and mental spaces. Beautification sets the tone in an environment. Simple items such as throw pillows, picture frames, or even a beautiful plant can lighten the mood of any room or space.
- Building my “Tribe” – Taking a deeper look at my life, I began to pay attention to the “angels” in my life. My angels were the people who did not care about my mood swings and would turn down an invitation to a pity party.
Your tribe can consist of many different types of people. It can be a life coach, a spiritual leader, a co-worker, a family member. The critical factor of building a tribe is honesty and absolutely no passivity!
Although it is no longer 2020, we are still recovering. Work hard but be kind to yourself. Life is so short, and life is truly what you make it.
